How do you guys stop an instance?

I'm having considerable trouble trying to close instances without having to close the entire ZP. So even though there are templates I want to keep running, I can't get rid of the ones I don't without restarting ZP and losing out on the templates I wanted to keep working but can't. Is there any workaround? cheers
