Let's see this hosting provider https://www.hetzner.de/us/hosting/produktmatrix/rootserver-produktmatrix-ex

Very cheap offer. I used it long times ago for own needs, very good choice for those who need more RAM. Primary demand for ZP is RAM, then SDD, after that - CPU, and latter bandwidth. VRAM doesn't matter. Also you can find low level providers like OVH or other (I don't know current situation on the market, you can find other providers on specific forums).

Use these simple principles when you planning your choice:
  • RAM is never too much
  • SDD is a disk, all other (HDD/SAS) is worthless
  • Bandwidth matters only in cases when you are using direct post/get requests (without starting instance)
About CPU - I have no any deep knowledge here, but I will mention obvious thing - never use CPU like Intel atom, ARM etc, it's stubs.

If you make a choice on hetzner - keep in mind about one fact. This provider don't like ZP proxy checker, hetzner thinks that it's scan software (their firewall configured incorrectly) so you can get some problems with abuses (auto generated by their alarm system).

#1 Hetzner
#2 Azure :-)

Azure is good for jobs that run quickly and don't need high resource usage. Servers can be brought up/down as needed and IP's change around in a way that is helpful. Can be a fucking nightmare to setup at times though.

For always on, hetzner.
Very fast and reliable. Steady 1GB/s.
http://www.serverbidding.com/?country=US Is much cheaper than the retail proces.

THey really really hate the zenno proxy checker, so make sure it doesn't run, because 5 minutes later you'll be switched off.

CPU: Intel Core i7 950+
[TBODY] [/TBODY]
RAM: 64-128 min. 64 is enough for most things, but it's nice to have
HDD: 256~ SSD + 2TB for storage

Turn off heavy content indexing and virus scanners wherever possible etc.
