I tried opening the file and it worked, not too sure why it didn't work for other templates. Changing my other templates to this format now to try again.

This is just an idea for better productivity and to run, schedule and maintain a set of templates. I find that if you can use icons instead of lists, you will be able to organize things better. Suggestion Desktop like interface with decent size icons to indicate templates, create folders...
